Chilly morning, very soggy. Too wet to go in the field. News of another ele fight, reports of one ele down a tusk, and another w a tusk in its side. Chat with a senior researcher here about a new ant project the group is trying to get going. Have a great dorky academic talk and may be slight chance of future collaboration, who knows! Do a litter lab work and head to Nanyuki. Hit the Matumba (=huge flea market) and snag some goodies. Load up on some foodstuffs and drinks. After dinner go to Jenga house and after much coaxing of the wet wood, get a little fire going in the makeshift fire pit on the veranda. Enjoy some smores, G and Ts, and lots of laughter.
